Dear Mr Medawar,
REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION RELATING TO THE COMMITTEE ON SAFETY OF MEDICINES
Thank you for your further letter of 28 July.
I was sorry to read that you consider the delay in my replying is so that the MCA avoids either disclosing or refusing to disclose the information you seek. This is, quite simply, not the case. The reason for the delay is that we have yet to come to a decision on these matters. Your requests raise, as I previously advised you, important issues to which the answers are not straightforward. We are considering these very carefully with a number of colleagues. I regret therefore that I am unable to give you the undertaking you seek as to specific dates by which I will reply. I can promise that I will reply as soon as possible and I am sorry for the length of time this is taking.
I expect to be able to reply to your request of 29 June for further information about our consultations on SSRIs by mid-August.
If you wish to make a formal complaint about the passages I cited from the White Paper "Your Right to Know", please write to Dr Jones, detailing your complaint and the misrepresentation you allege.
Yours sincerely |
Roy Alder |
Head of Executive Support |
