Dear Mr Medawar,

Thank you for your letter of 17 March.

I fully appreciate you remain dissatisfied and would like to repeat the apologies I gave in my letter of 12 March. I undertake to write to you with the disclosable information as soon as I can.

Your letter asks to whom you should address your complaint that we have now resiled (sic) in your view on an earlier undertaking to prepare edited texts. You also request the immediate release of the minutes pending these summaries. I believe both these issues fall within the scope of your complaint referred to the Ombudsman. It is now for him to complete his investigation and to issue his findings and recommendations. We will of course consider that report and any recommendations made by the Ombudsman after his final report is available.

I am sending a copy of this letter together with a copy of yours to Mrs Batchelor at the Ombudsman's Office.
