Dear Mr Medawar,
I apologise again for our delay in responding to your letters of 30 January, 14 February and 24 March 2000 about Detrusitol and the MCA's post-marketing advertising surveillance. We have, as is established good practice under the Code, asked the Swedish Medical Products Agency and Pharmacia and Upjohn for their comments on the discloseability of both the Swedish and the UK assessment reports for Detrusitol. A considered response from them has obviously taken some time, and we are awaiting a final reply from Pharmacia.
In addition, whilst the Agency makes every attempt to give Open Government Code requests priority, I have been unable to progress your requests as quickly as I would have liked to as I have been recently engaged in some short term but very high priority work in other areas. I offer this by way of explanation, not excuse, for our delay in responding to you.
I am on annual leave until 7 August. My colleague Mrs Thyer will be handling this matter in my absence.
Yours sincerely |
