I am currently withdrawing from Effexor, I am having a tought time and have the mind set to get thru this. All the comments I have read on this site are exactly what I am experiencing...the brain flashes, the sweats, the vertigo, the upset stomach, the general feeling of having the flu really bad. I was not aware of how difficult it was going to be to come off of this drug. I hated taking it, I was switched from Wellbutrin to Effexor. Since the Effexor I have had to start high blood pressure meds. I hate having to take so many pills everyday! I have a precancerous condition called Barretts Esphogus, I have to take two kinds of meds a day for that or all that I eat comes right back up, I take the Effexor and the blood pressure meds. I find in researching the Effexor that a lot of my recent complaints may be actual side effects from Effexor. I talk to the Doc about it, she says no you need to stay on Effexor, not telling me why other than it will help me stop smoking. I am now doing this on my own, I tapered down over the last motnh and am now not taking any at all. I am tired of being on these pills, I want off of them. The more I research Effexor and find out about this drug, the more I want off of it!
