I stopped taking Effexor, rather abruptly, the end of December of 2002. I became very ill with body aches, flu like symptoms, horrible headaches, upset stomach, major depression and major crying spells. My doc put me back on Effexor and reduced the dose by 37.5 per week. I took my last 37.5 capsule Feb. 28 2003. It felt so good knowing that was my LAST DOSE that I would take!! The two major symptoms that I experienced that time were anxiety and that horrible clicking in my head. I just want to ENCOURAGE you SUSAN and anyone else who is getting ready to stop any medication or who is in the middle of withdrawal and is discouraged. I know how you feel and the pain you are going through. I know your body and mind and emotions are hurting, but you can do it! Your body is screaming at you because it wants the medication!! Don't give in, you will only prolong it and lose the ground you have already gained! You will feel so good, VERY SOON, when you will wake up one day and say, "Hey!! Today, I don't take any!"
