I thought I might share my experiences of Aropax and hope that someone may have experienced the same and be able to give me some advice on what to do. I have been taking Aropax for almost a year due to mild depression and anxiety. It was probably not what should have been perscribed for me as my depression/anxiety was most prominent at night and would have been best treated with valium or something similar but when I initially consulted my GP I did not consider this. Upon first week of treatment I experienced strange feelings such as dizziness, feelings of disassociation, light headedness, clammy skin and feeling like I was having heart palpatations. I persevered and these side effects subsided after about the second week. All was fine. The medication helped my problem and after 8 months I decided to stop taking Aropax. I was perscribed half a tablet (10mg) everyday but had begun to take half a tablet every 3rd day then gradually went on to taking half once a week. When I would stop taking it altogether (not taken a tablet for longer than one week) I would get the same effects as the initial side effects but only they were much worse. I also found I would become very angery and short tempered. This would stop only if I took a dose of the medication. So this continues and to me resembles addiction as I need to take the medication to feel normal. I have tried taking 5mg every few days but when I stop the same thing happens. I would like to know if anyone has experienced the same thing and comments on the best way to stop taking Aropax.
Just a word of advise for everyone who is about to begin taking Aropax...Everyone responds differently to medication but if I had of known that I would have problems withdrawing from Aropax I never would have taken it. There should always be another option so do a bit of research about similar drugs available.
