We found last week that our 17 year old daughter had been taking Cipramil for the last year. It was prescribed by a GP. My daughter is really not depressive (I have plenty of knowledge of people who are) We knew nothing about cipramil, although we'd heard about drugs like seroxat and their side effects. Our daughter agreed to try gentler methods of getting her teenage life together and stopped taking Cipramil a week ago. Tonight, because I am so worried about all the effects she is now getting, like electric shocks, tingling, blurred vision, giddiness, I looked on the web and found out how dangerous a sudden cessation can be. Now I am terrified that she might suffer permanent physical damage from the withdrawal. Can anyone advise if this is likely? We can help her stay with it if it is a question just of hanging on in there but will she be damaged by this? And I want to know if I can report this G.P. for giving this to a 17 year old with normal teenage trauma.
