I too am on Cipramil and have found of huge benfit to returning my life to a 'normal'state. I have recently gotten married and would like to have children.
There is very little information on Cipramil and its effects in pregnancy in Ireland or European web sites but the following is what I have found.
It was found at: http://www.globaldrug.tv/product.asp?ProdID=1126&CtgID=1012
Use in Preganacy and Lactation: animal Studies have not shown any evidence of teratogenic potential and citalopram does not affect reproduction or perinatal conditions. Due to limited human data, CIPRAMIL should only be used in pregancy if considered necessary and under close supervision of a physicain. Citalopram appears in breast milk in very low concentrations. In nursing mothers, caution is recommended as it is not known whether citalopram excreted in milk may affect the infant.
In my own case I have been advised to reduce my dosage to under 30 per day as this would be considered to be a low dosage of Cipramil before becoming pregnant. I am unsure as to how well I will cope on this dose but am willing to try it. All I can advise myself is that you keep in close contact with your Doctor and psychiatristand take their advice. Good luck,
