Dear Mr. Shepherd,
I wrote to you on 18 May about the investigation of Mr Medawar's complaint against the Medicines Control Agency. As that was nearly three months ago, I thought I should let you know the current position.
Mr Medawar may have told you that that MCA wrote to him on 18 June with the outcome of their review of some of his longstanding information requests; and we have noted the ensuing exchanges of correspondence between them. The Commissioner sent a copy of his proposed investigation report to the Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health on 27 July asking for comments as quickly as possible. We are now waiting for a reply.
Once again, all I can do is apologise to you and Mr Medawar for the continuing delay and thank you both for your continuing patience.
