Charles Medawar, Social Audit Ltd, P.O. Box 11 London NW1 8XE 12 January 2001
Dear Mr Medawar,
Thank you so much for your letter of 11 January 2001 and also your letter of the 28th December 2000.
The Council of the Patients Association did arrive at a decision regarding Direct to Consumer Advertising. It was felt that the issue of DTCA should be examined in an open and transparent manner and should not be dismissed. Some of the Council members felt that it should be viewed as another form of information for patients. I hope this goes some way towards clarifying the situation.
Rather than entering into a long and protracted correspondence regarding this matter it may be more beneficial to meet up at some point
Yours aye Mike Stone Director
